Singtel Race Against Cancer by William Woo
CAMPAIGN HAS ENDED
Every year, I sign up for the Singtel-Singapore Cancer Society Race Against Cancer run. In a way, it is symbolic of the fight against cancer because runs are a race against the clock – fighting your limits especially towards the end. But it’s also a gross understatement to make when you compare it with the fight against cancer, which is not one that lasts several minutes or hours, but can last for months or even years. Cancer patients are fighting every day, every hour, every minute and every second for their life. And it’s not an individual fight, but one that involves family members, caregivers, doctors, nurses and friends.
On 28 July, I will run alongside my colleagues, friends and many others at RAC. To me, this is what RAC is all about – when we support the fight against cancer, we are not just fighting for the many unknown names diagnosed with cancer each day. We are also doing this for all our loved ones, those who walk (or run) through life with us.
The number of cancer cases is projected to continue to rise. We, too, can rise to the occasion and come one step closer to winning the race against cancer. Donations are a good first step and all donations go to Singapore Cancer Society. Please support me on this meaningful cause.
